Swing Set Fitness Commercial Video



Here is a great example of how to apply the science of fitness conditioning to marketing paradigms. PLEASE understand, I am not knocking this product nor its creator, BUT, I do want to highlight that while this appears to be something new to the industry MODALITY wise, it's still the same science that has always been there. Why is that? Because the nature of Human Movement Science (HMS) is fundamentally consistant.

For those who study HMS, they will recognize the Swing Set Fitness program to be another variation on stability conditioning in an unstable environment. Generally speaking, anythinig else to say about the program would be a variation on that theme. By comparison, think TRX or similiar modalities- while each offers its own unique features due to the inherent nature of the modality, they all collectively offer stability conditioning in an unstable environment- AND THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!

I am neither promoting nor knocking this product, just pointing out what should be obvious but often isn't. If you're looking for something different to shake things up, or something to do in the park with the kids, this is probably a great alternative- it gets you outside and enjoying the fresh air! But if you've been duped into believing this is the NEXT BIG THING because the modality physically presents itself as different, and you're ready to plunk down $1500 for a Swing Set Certification, you may want to rethink what you do as a fitness professional.

As someone once said, a professional governs themselves by the sciences of their industry. Perhaps fitness professionals should govern themselves by the sciences of the fitness industry rather than the uniqueness of the latest modality.
